FlickrExport for iPhoto 2.0.6 and FlickrExport for Aperture 1.0.1
Thanks to some help from the Flickr team and a few stellar bug reports, we identified a problem with FlickrExport that seemed to only be affecting some users. The effect was that large uploads would never finish and photosets would not be created, but what was happening underneath was that the Flickr ID strings had become larger (seemingly for some users, but not all) and FlickrExport was generating URLs which were longer than Flickr’s Apache servers were willing to handle. The solution was to convert from HTTP GET to HTTP POST for those Flickr API calls whose size was dependent on the number of photos being uploaded.
A couple of small things squeezed into this update:
- In both iPhoto and Aperture versions, FlickrExport hides the bandwidth status controls for Flickr Pro account users.
- In the Aperture version, the bug that caused thumbnails to appear distorted has been fixed.
Release notes are at the usual places for iPhoto and Aperture.
